She walked down the aisle under her mother’s forty-year-old ivory lace cathedral veil, her father guiding her every step. Jason waited patiently for his bride, his eyes glistening with tears. Every second he waited was worth it because he was the luckiest man in the room. For the vision walking towards him was his, as he was hers. The rings they exchanged were both carefully created to reflect not only their individual personalities, but also their united love for one another. Melanie’s ring elegant and timeless displayed beautiful diamonds on a silver band. Jason’s ring was an Irish penny molded to fit his finger and inscribed with the word Eire, the Irish word for Ireland and a date, the year 1965. The year the penny was created.
Melanie and Jason’s wedding day was filled with historic charm and the luck of the Irish on their side. It was St Patrick’s Day after all and their friends and family gathered from all over to celebrate their union of marriage. The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame was the perfect location for their celebration after first meeting there seven years ago. The room shimmered in gold underneath strings of twinkle lights. On stage the band played music of the ages featuring a variety of extremely talented singers and musicians including Annie Ellicott, the couple’s dear friend and bridesmaid. Max stole the show tearing up the dance floor with his one-of-a-kind moves and a smile so big it could light up a room. Guests mingled about enjoying delicious Indian food while they sipped margaritas and tea. Only pausing to hop into the photo booth for some good candid fun with silly glasses and signs.
Mel and Jason, it was an honor for me to be entrusted to capture your love for one another. You both love with a fierce passion and your whole hearts, not only for one another, but also for all around you. Max is a wonderful example of your love. He is such a joyful, spirited little guy that is very, very loved by all who meet him. Something he has learned from the two of you.
Mel, we have been through so much during our fourteen years of friendship. We have amazing stories and some embarrassing ones (that will not be shared!). Seeing how loved you are brings me great joy. I am so happy you and Jason found one another and I wish you three nothing but love and laughter for many years to come. XOXO
