The Maternity Experience
Congratulations on your growing family!
This season of life is so full—full of love, anticipation, change, and if we’re being honest… a little bit of exhaustion too. One minute you’re marveling at every tiny kick, and the next you’re holding that sweet baby in your arms wondering where the time went.
That’s what makes maternity sessions so meaningful. It’s not just about capturing your growing belly—it’s about freezing this once-in-a-lifetime moment, celebrating the bond between you and your baby, and honoring the strength, beauty, and love that radiates from within you.

A little about my family...

My own journey to motherhood was an emotional rollercoaster, with more lows than highs. But in the end, we were blessed to adopt our incredible son and, in the process, gained a wonderful birth family as well. 💕

Maternity Session Tips
Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, a maternity session is such a special way to celebrate the life growing inside you and the love surrounding your growing family. Here are a few tips to help you feel confident, comfortable, and radiant on session day!

1. Timing Is Everything
The best time to schedule your maternity session is typically between 28 and 34 weeks. You’ll have a beautiful bump to show off, but you’ll likely still feel comfortable enough to move and pose with ease. If you're expecting twins or have a high-risk pregnancy, we may want to schedule a little earlier.

2. Dress for Comfort and Confidence
Choose outfits that make you feel amazing. Flowy dresses, snug knits, and soft fabrics that highlight your bump photograph beautifully. Solid colors and soft, earthy tones or pastels work best—but bold can be beautiful too, depending on your style! I always recommend avoiding busy patterns or large logos. And don’t forget to try on your outfit ahead of time to make sure it fits and feels right.

3. Include Your People and Pets
Partners, kids, and even pets are welcome to join! This is a family celebration, and their presence helps tell the full story. Just be sure to coordinate outfits ahead of time for a cohesive look.

4. Hair, Makeup & Pampering
You deserve to feel like the goddess you are. If it’s in your budget, consider having your hair and makeup done professionally before the session. It’s a great confidence boost and adds a little glam to the day.

5. Bring the Essentials
Consider bringing:
-
A water bottle
-
Touch-up makeup or a hairbrush
-
A cozy wrap or sweater if it’s chilly
-
Flat shoes for walking between locations
-
A second outfit if you’d like variety in your photos
6. Trust the Process & Embrace the Moment
You don’t need to be a pro at posing—I’ll guide you every step of the way. This session is about celebrating you and the amazing journey you’re on. Focus on the love you feel for your growing family, and I’ll take care of capturing it all.
