I seriously have the sweetest couples as my clients, and Gracie and Ben are no exception! These two are so sweet and so adorable together.
As you might have guessed by the first photo, we did their engagement session around Christmas. These poor cuties were so cold, but such troopers. We spent most of our time exploring the various areas around the Fox River in downtown St Charles before finishing at one of my favorite locations (the green pedestrian bridge and pretty rocks). However, to keep our bodies from completely going numb we did pop into Starbucks for a quick hot cocoa warm-up and a few candid photos.
One of my favorite things to do while walking around is getting to know my couple and hearing their love story. It's funny how we all have our own variations! Below are Ben and Gracie's story:
Ben: "We met on the first day of practice for the cross-country team. She kept asking me questions to get to know me and make me feel comfortable, but she was asking me in front of everyone so that they would hear too, so I felt even more uncomfortable. We were introduced to each other before that like when her family drove me home after we walked in a parade together to represent our school, but on the Cross-Country was the first time we met and stayed friends."
Gracie: "I'd go even farther back and say our families have been friends our whole lives, but we didn't become friends until, like Ben said, we ran cross-country together. I actually was dating someone else all through high school... but Ben and I were truly best friends, no one made me laugh or think as hard as he did. It wasn't until I went to college that Ben and I started dating and well, the rest is history :)"
