Noah's Event Venue, Lincolnshire | Lisa & David

Fate. That is the first word that comes to mind when I hear Lisa and David's love story. They met on a Caribbean cruise in November 2010. Both with their families from different parts of the world. Both loved to travel. Each caught the other's eye, but it was the flamingos that brought them together. During the excursion Lisa was "volunteered" to go stand near some flamingos. Dave took some photos and showed them to Lisa on the way back to the cruise and they didn't stop talking from then until the end of the cruise.

Their wedding day celebrated their passion for travel with a world theme. For the reception each table was named with a location they had traveled together as well as a picture of the couple there. The adorable stationary with a map of the world was created by Lisa herself and The Quintessential Cake replicated the design onto the front of their stunning wedding cake. Every detail meticulously planned, all the way down to the stuffed flamingo that Dave tossed in lieu of a garter.

Lisa and Dave continued the thoughtful sentiment by selecting Navy Pier as the location for their portraits. It was a rough drive into the city with traffic at an all time high, but it was important to the couple to have photos captured at the spot where Dave proposed. As they walked through the crowds people cheered and snapped photos like they were royalty. And they most certainly looked it! After photos in front of Navy Pier's iconic Ferris wheel the bridal party began walking to Olive Park while Dave and Lisa revisited the exact spot he proposed (before rejoining the group for some more photos).

As the bridal party settled back onto the bus Dave popped the champagne to toast to good times and the rest of the night the celebration continued with love, gratitude and dancing!

If I had to choose one moment of the day to be my favorite it would have to be Dave and Lisa Facetiming his parents in England. That simple gesture of love sums up Lisa and Dave perfectly. They are both extremely kind, compassionate, loyal people who value their family and friends above all else. Even amid the craziness of the wedding day the couple did their best to include all who couldn't attend.

Lisa and Dave, I have loved getting to know you both over the past few months. Congratulations on becoming husband and wife! I wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness and adventure with an occasional flamingo or two ;) Cheers! XOXO Joy
