Grau Mill Forest Preserve Fall Family Session | Kohler Family

I have been photographing the Kohler family for nearly ten years now, which makes every session with them extra special. It is always so much fun catching up and seeing just how much Emily and Scotty have grown since the last time I saw them.

For this year’s fall family session we explored one of the most beautiful spots in Oak Brook, Grau Mill Forest Preserve. I have to admit, I loved it. The river winding through the preserve, with rocks lining the edges, made it feel like we had somehow stepped into Colorado instead of Illinois.

The sun peeked out at just the right moment, giving us that warm evening glow. The tall grasses along the river added beautiful color and texture to the entire scene, making it the perfect backdrop for the Kohler family’s photos.

It was another wonderful evening with a family I have loved photographing for years, and I already look forward to the next time I get to see them again.
