Chicago city skyline from the Lincoln Park bridge with couple

Laura and Jake's Lincoln Park summer engagement session couldn't have been more perfect. With beautiful weather, golden evening light, and one of Chicago's most iconic neighborhoods as the backdrop, it was the ideal way to celebrate this exciting season of their lives.

When couples choose a location that means something to them, their photos become even more personal. Laura and Jake spend so much of their time in Lincoln Park, so it only made sense to document their story where so many of their favorite memories have already been made.

We began their engagement session at home with their adorable dog, Burley, who was named after the street they live on. I always love when couples include their pets because they're such an important part of the family. From there, we stopped by one of their favorite neighborhood hangouts (The Burwood Tap) before wandering through Lincoln Park together.

As we explored South Pond and North Pond, we were treated to some of the most beautiful views of the Chicago skyline. Summer evenings in Lincoln Park are hard to beat, especially when the light is soft and the city is glowing in the background. Between all the walking, chatting, and laughing, the evening felt more like spending time with friends than taking photos.

One of my favorite moments happened when we walked past the church where Laura and Jake will be getting married next February. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop for a few photos outside. It was one of those full circle moments that made the session feel even more meaningful, connecting this chapter of their story with the one that's just around the corner.

By the end of the evening, poor Jake's feet were definitely feeling all the miles we had walked, but he never complained once. I'd say the stunning skyline views and beautiful memories were well worth it.

I can't wait to celebrate with Laura and Jake again on their wedding day next winter. There is no doubt in my mind, it's going to be a day filled with laughter, love, and so many meaningful moments.
