Wheaton Studio Generation Family Session

Generation Sessions have become especially meaningful since Covid limited the ways we could gather as families back in 2020. What began as a response to distance has grown into something truly beautiful. I love seeing families intentionally prioritize quality time together—choosing to slow down, be present, and document their connection in a way that can be shared for generations to come.

For this generation session, the family chose to rent a studio space in Wheaton—a perfect decision for November in Chicago, when the weather can be wildly unpredictable. Steering clear of cold winds, early sunsets, or surprise snow meant everyone could relax, stay comfortable, and simply enjoy being together without worrying about the elements.

This particular session was extra special, as it centered around celebrating the grandparents—who, to the littlest ones, are actually great grandparents. Watching multiple generations interact, laugh, and share quiet moments together was incredibly heartwarming. And just when the session couldn’t get any sweeter… there was a surprise announcement no one saw coming (including me).

A new great-grandbaby is on the way.

Moments like these are exactly why Generation Sessions matter so much. They aren’t just photos—they’re living history, filled with love, legacy, and the joy of watching a family continue to grow.
