A blazing fire, snuggling under a blanket in my PJ's and the smell of evergreen floating in the air. Those are some of my favorite memories during the holiday season. It is not uncommon to enter our home on a chilly December day and not witness one or two of those things. At least once a week you will find my entire family hunkered down in our family room, blankets pulled up to our chins, doggies snuggled on our laps, a fire roaring in the fireplace and the newest Hallmark Christmas movie playing on our TV. This is one of the many reasons why I love the holiday season.
Ever since I can remember it has been a tradition in my household to purchase a new set of holiday pajama's each year. In our home, Christmas morning is not Christmas morning if you aren't opening your presents in your special holiday PJ's. As an adult I probably have three or four pairs that I rotate between throughout the month. I have even continued the tradition on for my niece and nephews by creating a "Waiting for Santa kit".
Everything Thanksgiving, after our bellies are full and our blessings have been shared, I pass out the first Christmas present they receive. Their "Waiting for Santa Kit".
