The Frederickson Family’s fall session at Winfield's St James Farm was proof that a little cold weather can’t stop meaningful moments from being captured—especially when there’s love, laughter, and a whole lot of teamwork involved.

It was one of those bitter cold fall days that truly felt more like winter. Where the air nips at your nose the second you step outside. But instead of letting the chill steal the joy, we leaned into it. We took plenty of breaks to warm up, hopping inside when fingers needed a thaw and cheeks needed a moment to regain feeling. And when we were outside? We moved. A lot.

There was playing, laughing, snuggling close, and just enough silliness to keep smiles bright and blood flowing. Those in-between moments—parents pulling kids close for warmth, laughter bubbling up between shivers, quick hugs that linger a little longer—are the ones that truly tell the story.

St James Farm, even in the end of fall, is stunning. The quiet paths, open spaces, and soft seasonal tones created a peaceful backdrop that allowed the Frederickson family’s connection to shine. Wrapped up in love, they showed up fully for one another—and that’s what made this session so special.

These are the sessions I love most. The ones that aren’t about perfect conditions, but about real life. Because years from now, they won’t remember how cold it was (or maybe they will!)—but beyond that they’ll remember the laughter, the warmth they found in each other, and the memories they made together.
