Fabyan Forest Preserve Fall Proposal

Frank reached out to me with a plan. He wanted to propose on the island at Fabyan Forest Preserve on Veterans Day since Sarah had very limited days off from work. This Fabyan Forest Preserve Fall Proposal was thoughtful, intentional, and perfectly planned.

Of course, in true Chicago fashion, the weather had other ideas. It was bitter cold and extremely windy that day. I was honestly amazed that the stunning florals Frank had arranged with the help of both sets of parents stayed standing and did not tip over or take a dive into the Fox River.

I sat on a nearby bench pretending to mind my own business while waiting for them to arrive. Soon enough I spotted the two of them walking toward the island. Meanwhile, both sets of parents were tucked away in their cars nearby, waiting patiently for the signal that the moment had happened.

We were the only people around, which made the whole moment feel even more special. And thankfully Sarah had no idea what was about to happen.

When Frank got down on one knee, the surprise on her face said it all. She was completely shocked and absolutely overjoyed.

After lots of celebratory hugs with their parents, the three of us captured a few just engaged moments as we slowly made our way back toward the parking lot. The couple was ready to warm up, celebrate, and grab something to eat, and honestly, I do not blame them one bit.

Congratulations, Frank and Sarah. What a memorable way to start your next chapter together.
