Mallard Lake Forest Preserve Family Photo Session | Jay Family

The Jay family wanted a location close to home, and Mallard Lake turned out to be the perfect spot for their session. With open space, beautiful trees, and the peaceful water nearby, it gave the girls plenty of room to explore and play. This Mallard Lake Forest Preserve Family Photo Session was the perfect setting for a relaxed evening together.

I have photographed twins many times over the years, but it is not often I photograph identical twins dressed exactly the same. It definitely made editing a little more interesting, making sure each sister had her own individual moments in the gallery. And, while they may look alike, their personalities are completely their own, and both are absolutely precious in their own unique way.

We spent the session doing what kids do best. Playing, exploring, and tossing leaves into the air. The girls were especially drawn to the water, which they lovingly called the “wah wah.” They could not get enough of the shimmering lake in front of them and spent plenty of time watching it sparkle and move.

Those curious little moments often end up being the most memorable ones.
